Denver Nuggets is a professional basketball team of America located in Denver, Colorado. The team is part of the Northwest Division of the Western Conference in the National Basketball Association. They are the late Denver Rockets team and they were founded in the year 1967 as an expansion team of the American Basketball Association. The team changed their name to “Denver Nuggets” and merged in the NBA in the year 1976. The team played their home court games at the Pepsi Center. In the early years of the team, when they’ were still the Denver Rockets, they moved violently in the early post seasons and they failed to compete in the championship game. The team has a solid lineup led by Larry Jones and Byron Beck then later, Ralph Simpson and Beck. Spencer Haywood, which is a controversial rookie, joins the team in the 1969 to 1970 season. Spencer is one of the first players to become a professional player previous to graduating in college. In the ABA season, Spencer almost averaged thirty points and twenty rebounds for each game. Then, Spencer jumps in and joins the SuperSonics (a professional basketball team of America located in Seattle) and played in the NBA after breaching the contract of Spencer in Denver. In the year 1974, the team merged to the NBA - changing their name as the Denver Nuggets. The team won their first conference title in the year 1976. The team also won three division titles when they were still in ABA in the years 1970, 1975 and 1976. When the team Nuggets played in the NBA, they have won seven division titles in the years 1977, 1978, 1985, 1988, 2006, 2009 and 2010.
