The Philadelphia 76ers are a professional basketball team of America located in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. The team is part of the Atlantic Division and they play in the Eastern Conference of the National Basketball Association. In the year 1946, Mr. Danny Biasone sends a five thousand dollar check to the National Basketball League in Chicago, making the Syracuse Nationals as mainly Midwest-based in the league’s easternmost club. Afterwards, the NBL joined the American Basketball Association and became known as NBA. In the year 1955, the Nationals (now the 76ers) won their first NBA championship as led by Dolph Schayes. From the years 1966 to 1967, Alex Hannum (the head coach) led the team to start a46-4 record and to finish the regular season with a 68-13 record, making it the league’s best in history during their time. Billy Cunningham, Hall Greer and Wilt Chamberlain together with all-stars Lucious Jackson, Wali Jones and Chet Walker led the team to advance in the finals of the Eastern Conference.
